February 21-24

Hello Families!

I hope you are enjoying the warmer weather after such a cold week! The most common question in our class this week was 'When is it going to warm up so we can play in the snow?' Lots of movement breaks were had for sure in Room 13.

In Writer's Workshop this week we read the book 'Refection in Me' and brainstormed about ourselves-things that we can do, things that we are and things that we have. So many wonderful, positive words were written!

In Science, as a lead up to Building Things, the students were given a STEAM challenge of building a tower where no two materials alike could be touching. As we move into this unit, students will be able to use their critical thinking to change their approach to this challenge to be more successful with their towers!

In Math, we continue to learn helpful strategies for solving addition equations! Ask your child how they can use a number line.

Scholastic
Scholastic flyers did not quite make it home this month, but they always have monthly flyers you can access online - Here is the link for February's Flyer! Our class code is: RC197105

Dear families,

Mark your calendars! The fun and excitement of a Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school again during Student Led Conferences! To adapt to our changing needs, Scholastic has developed a Hybrid Book Fair (in-school with a virtual link) to provide an opportunity for our students and families to experience the joy of reading together.

So, save the date! Our Scholastic Virtual Book Fair will take place on:

Monday, March 6th till Monday, March 13th

When it’s time to shop, you can choose to visit the virtual link and purchase online or in person during Student-Led Conferences. More information to come!

Happy reading!
