Hello Families, World Down Syndrome Day was this past Tuesday, thank you to all for rocking mismatched or funky socks! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCCUIsct8Bw We have been learn busy learning about how to make our sentences more descriptive by using verbs and adjectives! As one student said, 'it helps to paint a better picture in our minds.'  The students have become very good at identifying the noun, verb and adjective in a given sentence as well and have begun to use the Montessori Grammar Symbols to identify them. This week in our math groups, we focused on how to use the Montessori Stamp Game for addition and subtraction. I hope you all have a wonderful Spring Break! See you in April! Ms. Romanko Upcoming Important Dates March 24-April 2: Spring Break (no school)  April 7: Good Friday (no school)  April 10: Easter Monday (no school)

Science: Building Leprechaun Traps Students were so excited to invite our guest Engineer, Mr. Brad into the classroom to teach us about the design process last week. We were even more excited to welcome him back into the class this week to support us with our building! Students were able to share their blueprints and the beginning stages of their building process with Mr. Brad in order to get feedback, suggestions, and lots of encouragement! The students were AMAZED when they came in this morning and investigated evidence on the leprechaun(s) in our classroom! The leprechaun sure made a mess! We also had some time to follow a step by step drawing of a leprechaun! The students can really see how well they can draw when following someone else, it really boosts their confidence! Math Groups We have begun Math groups each day which is very similar to our Daily LA Groups! We have 5 different groups, a teacher group, math with materials, fact fluency practice, math games and math with techno

Building Materials

Hello Families, It was wonderful to see you all at conferences last week. I hope you enjoyed all that your child shared with you.  If they haven't mentioned it already, we are starting our Building Unit in Science by creating a blueprint and bill of materials to build a leprechaun trap. If you have any materials from their list, please send it to school with them on Monday or Tuesday. We will begin the building process on Tuesday and complete it on Thursday. Photos to come on Friday of their creations! Thanks, Ms. Romanko
