Hello Families, Sorry for the delay, forgot to take photos of the work from last week so the blog was delayed until today. We began to learn about the 7 Sacred Teachings this week. Ms. Scotton taught us about two of them: Love and Respect. Below are photos of the anchor charts that have the students ideas as well as a few examples of their work. Ask your child what they wrote about in their visual journal! In Math we continue to work on graphing-collecting data, reading data and making our own bar graphs! The students love creating their own questions to ask their peers, they are really learning a lot about each other! Word Work Groups In Ms. Greenhall's Word Work Group students have been learning about consonants. This week we reviewed the letters L, J, K, and W using the Animated Literacy actions. We then cut and sorted pictures that start with these letters. Those who finished early tried to spell the items in their pictures and then moved onto a literacy game. Ask your child ab

Hello Families, What a busy week, where did it go?  In Math we began to learn about graphing. How do we formulate a question to collect data from our peers? How do we represent the data collected? Students worked together to answer given questions and then were able to create their own such as: What is your favourite Sport? What is your favourite animal? Ask you child what their questions were!  We used tally marks to record our peers responses and used a mini-class checklist to ensure we had asked everyone just once! We also learned how to represent our collected data using a bar graph.  Social Studies Your child should have brought home their own talking stick they created this week. Using paint, the students created different lines and dot patterns on their stick as well as used yarn to create a place to hold the stick. We learned that you always go to the left when passing a talking stick, ask your child why. We are using our collaboratively made class talking stick each morning
